Purnima Dabholkar
This incredible artist has exhibited her work in a number of exhibitions in India and abroad. Working in oils and acrylic, Purnima uses the rich tones that these mediums provide to give her portraits of women a strong presence. Her ladies are riveting and fierce, the colours strong and vibrant, the brush strokes never hesitant. Her paintings border on magic and realism and are both seductive and fierce. They look out at you challenging you to look away, and yet as you gaze at the faces there is a vulnerability that filters through, reflected through their beautiful eyes.
